Planning drafts

Front cover...
This is a basic draft of for the layout and colour choice for my magazine.
Image: I have chosen a basic layout with the main image dominating the page. the main image will be a mid shot featuring their shoulders upwards. I need the pose for the image to be bold and lous which would stand out on the shelf as a music magazine. I have also decided to include a freebee section as it was a generic feature of alot of magazines even from the more respected music magazines.
colour: for the colour scheme i have decided to use red, yellow , blue , black and white. foucusing on the black and white for that powerful alternative rock feel i want my magazine to convey. Every individual colour must stand out from eachother so no area of the cover is hard to read or misleading but all interesting and striking this will help to gain attention and potential buyers of the magazine if it were to be on a shelf.
Title: When crating a new freash magazine the title is the most inportant feature of a front cover in my opinion because it gives the breand identity. The font needs to hold all of the characeristics that the readers do, such as it will need to be edgy, different, creative etc.
Text: As i have shown on the planning i will include content such as that suggested by the participants of my music questionnaire survey. In doing this i have confidence that the topics will be of interest to my readers and would get my magazine noticed. I will need to use a bold but basic font for this writing as i need it to be easy to read and it will also be required that iI use a bold colour to stand out against any background making it easilu legible.

Contents page...
layout: The contents page require significantly less features than that of the front cover. I have decided to layout the contents page so that it is ckearly divded into two sections. the first section featuring text down the left hand side and as stated will be set out to look like that of a track list found on the back of a CD. the second side being images
Images: the images that i use will all be music related, they will either feature events that could appear within the magzine either reported or up and coming, or the could be a band / solo artist. They all require to have the same tone about them so that no one picture stands out dramaticly more than an other but all have an individual element about them.
Numbering and text: Because this section is the only section of the magazine that will inform readers fully of what to expect in the magaizne there will naturally be a fair portion of text to read in order to find a section of interest. to easer the consumers reading it is in their intrest to accompany the images with a number as tho a direct short cut to this page of interest. Another part to easing the readers reading is the style of font. The font has to be clear and stand out it also needs to be positioned clearly and made large enough for all eye sights to see. The text itself will be all of what the questionnaire suggested should be included as stated previously.

Double page spread...
Layout : much as that of my contents page i have divded the two page into one majority image and the other text.
image: for the double page spread i have chosen an image of a local band as though to suggest this is a new up and coming band of interest. The name of the band also helps to suggest this is a new band within the music industry as the 'basement' is where teenage bands start off playing and rhursing before they get gigs. The image at this size allows the readers to see the band close up and create a relation to.
colour: I would like to include more colour on the double page spread then the other sections because of the tedius amount of text it could potentially still contain. I plan to include colours such as dusty orange, green, red, yellow, blue and find a way of making these colour merge and suit together.
